Addressing Healthcare Needs of Inmates in Otukpo Correctional Facility

Program Overview

ReachLife Foundation carried out a targeted institutional medical outreach at the Otukpo Correctional Facility to respond to the limited access to healthcare services available to inmates.

The intervention focused on providing basic medical care, identifying untreated conditions, offering health education, and delivering counselling and spiritual support in a respectful and dignified environment.

Impact & Outcomes

Provided medical consultations, basic treatments, and health assessments for about 100 inmates.
Identified common health concerns and provided appropriate medications and referrals where necessary.
Delivered health education on hygiene, disease prevention, and personal wellbeing within the correctional setting.
Offered counselling, emotional support, and prayer sessions, addressing psychosocial and spiritual needs.
Improved inmates’ awareness of their health status and restored a sense of dignity and care among a marginalized population.

Monitoring & Accountability

All activities were conducted under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals. Services were delivered in line with ethical standards, with basic records kept to ensure accountability, transparency, and responsible use of funds.

Empowering Students for Lifelong Health

Program ID: RLF-PRO-002 Date: June 2020 Completed Location: FGC, Otobi, Otukpo LGA, Benue State

Program Overview

ReachLife Foundation implemented a school health outreach at Otobi Government Secondary School to promote holistic wellbeing among students during a period of increased public health concern.

The program focused on preventive health education, personal hygiene, mental wellbeing, and responsible lifestyle choices, while also reinforcing values of self-care and community responsibility.

Distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to support infection prevention and reinforce hygiene practices.
Encouraged early adoption of preventive health habits within the school community.
Strengthened students’ understanding of the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and responsible decision-making.

Monitoring & Accountability

The outreach was conducted in collaboration with school authorities and facilitated by trained volunteers. Activities were delivered as planned, with emphasis on student engagement, safety, and responsible use of resources.

Empowering the Next Generation of Healthcare Support Professionals

Program ID: RLF-PRO-003 Period: 2024 – 2026 Ongoing Location: Benue State

Program Overview

In partnership with MedScholar Academy, ReachLife Foundation launched a structured scholarship and training initiative to address the shortage of skilled healthcare support professionals in Benue State.

The program is designed to equip participants with practical, hands-on skills required to support licensed healthcare professionals in hospitals, clinics, and care facilities.

Training Target: 200 participants

Currently Trained: 54 participants

Training Model: Cost-Absorbed Training (MedScholar Academy)

Impact & Outcomes

Successfully trained 54 students so far in caregiving, healthcare assistance, and related support roles.
Participants gained practical skills to assist doctors, nurses, and other licensed professionals.
The program is strengthening healthcare delivery capacity while creating employment pathways for young people.
Training is ongoing toward the target of 200 beneficiaries across Benue State.

Monitoring & Accountability

Enrollment records, attendance, and training progress are tracked jointly by ReachLife Foundation and MedScholar Academy to ensure quality delivery and accountability.

Gwarinpa Village Mission & Medical Outreach

Program ID: RLF-PRO-004 Date: 31 May 2025 Completed Location: Gwarinpa Village, Abuja

Program Overview

ReachLife Foundation conducted a community medical outreach in Gwarinpa Village to provide free, essential healthcare services to residents with limited access to care.

The outreach focused on compassionate service delivery, early detection of health issues, health education, counselling, and spiritual encouragement.

Health, Hope & Awareness Outreach

Program ID: RLF-PRO-005 Date: 1 December 2025 Completed Location: Life Camp Junction, Abuja

Program Overview

This mobile outreach was organized in recognition of World AIDS Day to provide free health screening, education, counselling, and emotional support in a safe and stigma-free environment.

The outreach emphasized confidentiality, dignity, and open community engagement.

All screenings followed standard health protocols, with basic records maintained to support accountability and reporting.

December Hope Scholarship – Healthcare Training Initiative

Program Overview

The December Hope Scholarship was launched to remove financial barriers to healthcare training and support individuals seeking entry into caregiving and healthcare assistant roles.

The initiative combined accessible learning with practical skill development.
